The objectives of the conference are the following:

  • To improve research methodology about children’s rights;

  • To exchange the know-how about research already built with children on academic and NGO level;

  • To involve early career researchers in the discussions on research methodologies with children;

  • To promote children’s active participation in research.

  • To discuss ethic questions and the effectiveness of tools

The conference will take place over a scope of two days, with a plenary on the first day, workshops and a final plenary session to present preliminary results on the second day.

A panel composed of practitioners and policy makers will comment on the accessibility of the findings, gaps and shortcomings identified in these presentations.

The aims of the conference will be:

- To create a kind of protocol/chart of principles that allows researchers to build research designs that are respectful to children’s rights (with contributions of children): namely concerned with methodological and ethical issues;

- To set up a group which will prepare a manual on participatory research on children’s rights.

- To promote the creation of an international association of post-graduate students working on research about children’s rights;
