The Child Friendly Cities Research Project has the goal of enhancing the awareness, understanding and realization of children’s rights at sub-national levels, in urban areas and in other decentralized contexts, by providing resources for assessment, monitoring and critical self reflection.The Child Friendly Cities Research Project is being conducted through a partnership between the Innocenti Research Center (IRC) of UNCEF and the Childwatch International Reserach Network and with the close collaboration of the Adolescent Development and Participation Section of UNICEF.  Technical coordination of the research is ensured by IRC and the Children's Environments Research Group (CERG) based at the City University of New York, with the support and participation of the Bernard Van Leer Foundation
