“Children – Citizens in a challenged world -The African Experience”

OMEP – World Organization of Early Childhood Education is organising their African regional conference in Benin in April.

Deadline for abstracts: February 2011

The Conference invites proposals for presentations in the format of paper, workshop, symposium, poster and round-table presentation that match the Conference’s main theme and any of the sub-themes. Each proposal should be no more than 300 words. Presentations can be delivered in any of the OMEP three languages-English, French or Spanish.

Sub-themes:
•Issues of access, equality ,quality education and health for the African child
•Everyday life with economic hardship.Childrens experience and strategies
•Children’s rights and early childhood education in Africa.
•Environmental education for sustainable development in early childhood.
•Current issues and challenges in early childhood education and care in Africa.
•Early childhood education as an arena for cultural formation.
