The aim of this initiative is to bring the subject of the rights of children closer to the academic world through collaboration with universities and research centers around the world. The goal is to examine and develop the subject further from the grassroots programmes which until now have been the main means to examine the protection and application of these rights.
The Chair is designed for Universities / Research Centers’ work towards the protection and promotion of Children’s Rights. It is initiated by “Hope For Children” UNCRC Policy Center (HFC).
The Chair will act as an agent of knowledge on children’s rights within the academic community through policy and practice, by teaching, conducting research and providing services to the community.
The Chair holder will offer courses on children’s rights to master students in the fields of law, political and social sciences, and medicine. The Chair should also offer training to professionals and volunteers. The Chair will co-organize a bi-annual interdisciplinary international course in children’s rights, which should attract professionals in children’s rights from all over the world.
