Open Access Africa
Open access to the results of scientific research has potential to play an important role in international development, in this conference the benefits of open access publishing in an African context was discussed, from the perspective of both readers seeking access to information, and researchers seeking to globally communicate the results of their work.
The conference brought together researchers, librarians, university administrators and funders to discuss the issues surrounding access to scientific and medical research, and the role that open access journals can play.
