Successful Workhop on Child Poverty

The Institute for Labour and Family Research, Bratislava hosted a succesful international workshop on child poverty and social exclusion 8 - 9 September 2008. 26 researcher discussed how poverty and deprivation affects children's lives from different perspectives, including children's own perceptions.

The title of the workshop was "Impact of Poverty and Social Exclusion on Children's Lives and their Well-being". The international workshop was a follow-up event of the workshop "Children´s Experiences with Poverty and Social Exclusion - Challenges for Research and Policies", which was held in Vienna in June 2007. It aimed at strengthening the established platform for theoretical-methodological discussions concerning child poverty and social exclusion of children. Childwatch International supported the event, which was held in conjunction with the meeting of the Childwatch International East and Central Europe Regional Network.
