New Policy Papers from Young Lives

Young Lives have published two new Policy Papers: "Social Protection and Children: A Synthesis of Evidence from Young Lives Longitudinal Research in Ethiopia, India and Peru" and "Children and the Millennium Development Goals: Fragile Gains and Deep Inequalities".

Social Protection and Children: A Synthesis of Evidence from Young Lives Longitudinal Research in Ethiopia, India and Peru: Published in September 2010, the paper sets out the key findings from Young Lives research into the ways that major social protection policies are impacting on children, their families and communities in Ethiopia, India and Peru. Children and the Millennium Development Goals: Fragile Gains and Deep Inequalities: Published in September 2010, this paper aims to inform the debate around achievement of the MDG Goals using evidence and analysis from Young Lives. Young Lives first collected data in 2002 and is following two cohorts of children. The youngest cohort of Young Lives children were born just after the new millennium and are growing up with the promise of the MDGs.  Access the report here>>

Young Lives is a 15-year study of childhood poverty in Ethiopia, India, Vietnam and Peru, following the lives of 3,000 children in each country. The full text of all Young Lives publications and more information about the Young Lives project is available on the Young Lives website.
