The conference is focused on "Building a world without violence for children and teenagers” October 6th -9th 2013. Abstracts are being accepted on the subtopics of:
- Legislative progress regarding child abuse
- Child abuse intervention protocols
- Forensic techniques in child abuse
- Prosecution of crimes and the value of evidence in sexual violence against children
- New technologies and their impact in violence against children and teenagers
- Youngsters that abuse other children
- Children and teenagers sexual exploitation
- Prevention of violence against children in schools
- Family and community intervention in violence against children
- The impact of domestic violence in children
- Early childhood abuse
Conference participants will have the opportunity to acquire up-to-date knowledge in issues related to research, detention, prevention and intervention. They will also have the chance to share national and international experiences and to participate in discussions and workshops related to the protection of children and teenagers from different forms of violence.
We invite you to submit abstracts for presentation in Spanish, English or Portuguese. The presentation program will run streams in each of these languages. After a blind peer review, the abstracts will be selected by the Scientific Committee, chaired by Dr. María Ignacia Arruabarrena (Spain) and Soledad Larraín, Master's Degree (Chile).
To encourage participation from all Latin American countries, there will be simultaneous interpretation (translation) from and to Spanish, English, and Portuguese, in the keynote and plenary sessions of the conference.
We also want to point out that Viña del Mar is a city that offers interesting travel and cultural attractions, with vast beaches, shopping, parks and entertainment venues. This "Garden City” is an important tourist destination in Chile. Strolling by the sea and getting to know the city’s natural beauty will make this an unforgettable visit.

El tema central de esta conferencia es "Construyendo un mundo sin violencia para niños, niñas y adolescentes” De Octubre 6 al 9 2013 y los subtemas son los siguientes:
- Avances legislativos en maltrato infantil
- Protocolos de intervención en maltrato infantil
- Técnicas médico-forenses en abuso sexual infantil
- Procesamiento de delitos y el valor de la evidencia en violencia sexual infantil
- Nuevas tecnologías y su impacto en la violencia contra niños, niñas y adolescentes.
- Jóvenes que abusan o agreden a otros/as niños/as
- Explotación sexual comercial de niños, niñas y adolescentes
- Prevención de la violencia infantil en las escuelas
- Intervención familiar y comunitaria en violencia infantil
- Impacto de la violencia doméstica en los/as niños/as
- Maltrato en la primera infancia
Los/as participantes tendrán la oportunidad de actualizarse en cuestiones relacionadas con la investigación, la detección, la prevención y la intervención en las temáticas ejes del programa. Podrán compartir, además, una variedad de experiencias que se desarrollan a nivel nacional e internacional, participar en debates e intervenir en talleres enfocados en contenidos relevantes para la protección de niños, niñas y adolescentes frente a distintas formas de violencia.
También podrán hacer su aporte al debate y a la actualización difundiendo las tareas que realizan y los temas que interesan en cada región. Para ello, los/as invitamos a presentar abstracts en castellano e inglés (idiomas preferentes) y portugués, lo que serán seleccionados por el Comité Científico presidido por la Dra. María Ignacia Arruabarrena (España) y la Mg. Soledad Larraín (Chile) para asegurar la calidad del programa.
Con el objetivo de alentar la asistencia de delegados de todos los países latinoamericanos habrá traducción simultánea de las actividades principales al castellano, inglés y portugués, y también sesiones de presentación de trabajos libres en cada uno de estos idiomas.
Queremos destacar también que Viña del Mar es una ciudad que ofrece interesantes atractivos turísticos y culturales y que cuenta con balnearios, centros comerciales, extensas costaneras, parques y lugares de entretenimiento. La denominada “ciudad jardín” es el centro turístico más importante de Chile, un lugar para caminatas cerca del mar, muy interesante de conocer y con bellezas naturales que harán de su estadía una experiencia que no olvidarán.
