The study recommends that "States improve data collection and information systems in order to identify vulnerable subgroups, inform policy and programming at all levels, and track progress towards the goal of preventing violence against children. It also recommends that "States should […] develop a national research agenda on violence against children across settings where violence occurs […]" (UN Secretary-General’s Study on Violence Agains Children, 2006, chapter VI, part A, paragraph 11).
Several of the network’s key institutions have staff that are highly competent on the issue of violence against children. Others have in depth knowledge of the development and use of indicators in data collection on issues concerning children. Childwatch International will draw on their resources and contribute to the UNICEF/WHO coordinated process through active participation in the working group. Read report>>
